The new unified majority has chosen voting reform as a top priority - because of the work you’ve done to bring it front and center. Still, our reps need to hear from us on specific bills, and they need to know the work isn't done and you're holding them to it. And we need to know where they stand on our bills, and find champions to move them forward. So make a date and visit your rep, and keep those calls and letters coming!

CALL OR WRITE YOUR REP
Our reps have made it clear that they only have so much political capital, and they'll only spend it on the things that their constituents bang down their doors about. Even 10 calls or letters can make a huge difference - so start banging!
Phone calls, postcards and letters make the most impact, but this tool makes it easy to fax directly from your phone.
Remember to report back so we know you got in touch!
VISIT YOUR REP
Your reps work for you. Get a couple of friends together and pay your State Senator and Assembly Member a visit. Our lobby guide includes everything you need to know.
STEP 1: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Find the contact info for your State Senator & Assembly Member here.
Visit them in their office or in your district. Find out when they're in your district on the legislative calendar.
List your meeting on our website if you want company and we'll recruit other constituents.
STEP 2: MEET WITH YOUR REP
Our lobby guide includes a pre- and post-meeting checklist plus tips, advice & answers to hard questions. It also includes our Let NY Vote 1-sheet (en Español) to leave behind, and a tracking sheet to report back on the following:
Our goal will be to find out:
• Who supports each measure.
• Who is opposed.
• Who needs our expert partners to reach out with more in-depth knowledge on a topic.
If they support, we need you to:
• Ask if they'll co-sponsor (a) bill(s)
• Ask if they'll be a champion by writing an op-ed, speaking on the floor, hosting a Town Hall, getting other legislators on board, etc.
STEP 3: REPORT BACK
We need intel, and we need to know where we have support or need pressure, which reps are willing to co-sponsor our bills, and where reps need more info from an expert. Report back about how your meeting went and where your rep stands so we can have an overview of where our campaign is going.
TAG YOUR REP.
